Legal Question in Traffic Law in Pennsylvania

stop sign violation

I got cited for running a stop sign in May of 2007 and decided to challenge the ticket. I sent in full payment for my fine plus $6. I got a letter from the judge saying my trial will not be heard until May of 2008 because the trooper got deployed to Iraq. Is there a time limit or something I could do?
