Towed With No Signs Indicating No Parking
Good Morning,
I was visiting a friend this weekend and when I walked out to the parking lot my car was no longer there. I called the police to report a missing car. The officer reported the car as stolen because there was not one sign that stated that there was no parking allowed. I made the officer write that there was no signs indicating no parking in his report. The officer called me and informed me that they had found the car and that when I woke up in the morning I should have an officer accompany me to where the car was being held to be taken out of, ''stolen Status''. When I got there with the officer to the, ''junkyard'' cause that what it was they wanted me to pay $150. The police officer than took me to the place where the car was towed from and I showed him that there was not one sign that said no parking. The officer and I proceeded to the Manager of the community and she said that there used to be a sign there and they have no responsibility for this. I ended up taking a $50 cab ride to work four hours late. This is a financial and time consuming burden and the police offered no help although they did agree. Please what should I do
?

Re: Towed With No Signs Indicating No Parking
I'm assuming that the police didn't tow the car, but that it was towed by a private owner?? You don't say this in your narrative.
If that is the case, I would sue the private property owner who had your car towed because of lack of proper signage, etc. to recover the funds you lost as a result of their actions.
