Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Pennsylvania
I am one of 3 stepchildren named as heirs in a will. We have a carbon copy of the will, drawn by an attorney in 1979, who still exists. Unfortunately only this unsigned copy can be found, and I am wondering if there is any possiblity of getting this unsigned will copy proven. The decedent had no other children and was predeceased by their spouse. Intestate laws make the decedents siblings the heirs.

Probably not, in which case the estate assets will pass via intestacy, if the deceased lived in PA. The laws of other states will differ. What I would suggest is that the family meet with a probate attorney in the county/state of the deceased's residence to find out if a copy can be probated.
