Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Pennsylvania

Attorney error and now after disbursement he wants money back

After disbursing the money to the family, the attorney who did the estate is asking for money back. He said he made a clerical error (but hasn't shown any real proof). I find all of this very fishy.

Are we legally obligated to return any money? If so, should I be asking for an audit of all expenses?

Depends on what you consider real proof.

If his accounting shows that certain debts of the estate are as yet unpaid you may have to give the money back. Otherwise the debtors could come after you. Is the lawyer also the executor?

Mistakes happen never attribute to malice what could be just plain error.
