Credt Card Debt after death
My mom died without a will and some credit card debt in her name only. The only assets she had was a house worth $35,000 that is both my dad and her name with a $20,000 home equity loan. Can the credit card companies collect?

Re: Credit Card Debt after death
They could come after her estate. However, the house should be going to your dad outside of the estate. If they bought it as husband and wife the house passes to dad directly not to the estate.
Besides they can't go after jointly titled property when she was alive there for they can't do it just because she died.
