Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Pennsylvania

death estates

My husband passed away in feb 2008. We were separated for 7 years. In that time he accured a lot of credit card debt, I was not on any of these cards. His bills amount to 40,000.00 to 50,000.00. He had no beneficary on his life insurance policy. So since I am still his legal wife I will receive the money. 50,000.00 policy. Am I responsible for all these bills? There is no assets, we have a house in both names. Can the creditors put a lien on my home? They have threatened to do so.

Thank you

Re: death estates

You should contact an attorney to discuss the situation I assume the life insurance was paid to the estate therefore the creditors may have an interest in the proceeds. Call an attorney to discuss situation in more depth
