death with no will

My aunt passed away. Her only assets are a savings and checking account with about $10,000.00 in and an annuity that I am benificiary of. What happens to her unpaid nursing home bills and the money in her accounts?

When someone dies in Pennsylvania without a Will, they are considered to have died intestate. In such cases, the person estate will pass to their nearest living next of Kin as prescribed by Pennsylvania statutory law. Pursuming you are your Aunt's closest living next of kin, we would go about having you appointed as administrator of her estate and probating same.
