Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Pennsylvania

inheritance issue

My name appears on a late cousin's will, which is to be probated, as a result of my late Grandfather having indicated all family members of a certain generation were to jointly own a piece of property. This property was titled to my late cousin. I do not want this property and wish my name to be removed from the current legal proceeding (probate of his will). The atty. is asking for my name, DOB, SS# relative to my name appearing on the cousin's will related to the above and for no other reason of inheritance. Can I send this atty. a letter signed by me, witnessed and dated which asks that my name be removed from all claim to this property?

Thank you.

What you have to do is Disclaim your interest in the estate. You should let the attorney know you wish to disclaim and ask him to draft a Disclaimer for you to sign.
