Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Pennsylvania

Lawyer fees for contesting estate value

I'm considering contesting an estate distribution that I think should be higher than I'm told it is. I'm curious as to what the customary fees to a lawyer would be. Is it just time worked times an hourly rate? Or is it like an injury trial lawyer where they get paid ~ 1/3rd of what is recovered or else they don't get paid?. Can my legal fees be recovered from the estate or estate administrator if I win?

Every lawyer has a different approach to setting fees. You should consult directly with lawyers in the county where the estate is pending, so that the lawyer may determine if s/he will accept your case and how s/he will charge the fee.
