Life Insurance Inhertance

What is the process of getting the proceeds from a life insurance upon the death of the insured. I live in Florida and the deceased (mother) died in PA. They (the life insurance folks tell me I need a State ID for my mother?

You will need a death certificate. A state ID would be unnecessary.
