Money was left to grandchildren in a will but nothing to the great grandchildren, Can great grandchildren be considered part of the grandchildren for distribution purposes in the estate?

No. The will said grandchildren. Now if the grandchildren want to share with their kids that up to them. What is not up to you is to rewrite the will.

I agree with Attorney Davidson in general. If the will said all or a percentage of property to grandchildren then it goes to all biological or adopted grandchildren. No one else and the will cannot be re-written to please people.

That said, if a grandchild has died before the person who made the will, then the children of the dead grandchild (i.e. great-grandchildren) can inherit the share of their dead parent.
