Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Pennsylvania
Pennsylvania Probate
Mother is resident of PA, dies with Will. Five adult children to inherit equally. No debts to the 150K estate (no real property). Does it have to take a year to notice creditors and release funds to heirs? Texas has muniment of title, does PA also have a shorter vervion of probate? Thank You.

Re: Pennsylvania Probate
Pennsylvania does a shorter version of Probate, but it is for estates worth less than $25,000. You don't have to wait an entire year for distribution though. If you get everything done up front the executor could begin some distribution six months after the death. The executor should, however, reserve a small portion in case anything comes up. Of course if the executor does distribute early and before all the information is known they generally become liable if anything goes wrong.
