P.O.A. and Executor of Will

What is the difference between Power of Attorney & being the Executor of a will, and can they be 2 different people or do they have to be the same person?

Re: P.O.A. and Executor of Will

A Power of Attorney is NOT a person its a document. It makes the person named in it the agent of the principal.

The agency generally expires upon death of the principal.

An executor is the person named in will to carry out the terms of the will.

A person can be the agent and then the executor. Or another person not previously the agent could be named as the executor.
