Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Pennsylvania
new Power of Attorney behind my back
I have the original Power of Attorney signed by my Mom in 1998. My Dad died in 2000. My Mom came to live with me. She seemed very forgetful and she was diagnosed with Dimentia/Alheimers. My husband and I both work and were going to put her where she would be given proper care and around other people her age instead of wasting away in a room. My siblings did not agree and said they would care for her. They was very little money. Only from her house that was sold. My siblings were in financial troubles. They used my Mom as pawn to help themselves. They gave my Mom a new document to sign over power to them. She did not know what she was signing and I want it changed back. My Mom is now in a Home over an hour away making visits very hard. I also have to ask my siblings for permission to take her out to lunch or overnite visits. Unlike them I never had to use any of her money. They are angry because they were left out. My Mom and Dad didn't trust them. How can I right this wrong?

Re: new Power of Attorney behind my back
Unless you can work this out amicably between family members, your only avenue for resolution will be the court system. If you decide to follow the latter choice, it will get expense, and it may become nasty. You will need to gain either a guardianship over your mother's person and / or over her estate. Best of luck.
