Re: samll estate petition

There is a procedure for administering small estates without getting Letters of Administration issued. You may want to call the Register of Wills in the County where your mother resided at the time of her death and ask if they can give you a form of petition under PEF Code Section 3102 (Rule 73). However, it may be easier just to apply for the Letters of Administration, or if there was a will, to probate it and get Letters Testamentary issued, and do an informal administration of the estate. The Register of Wills' Office is usually very helpful and may be able to provide you with the guidance you need.
