Son's widows inheritance rights

In my Mother's will she left several small items to each of her children. One of my brothers died after the will was written and the will was never amended to reflect his passing. He was married but had no children.

Question: Does his widow automatically inherit his portion of the estate?

you have to look to the language of the Will. there will be language explaining what should happen if one of the heirs predeceases the testator. typically, it would not go the the spouse. it might just be split evenly amongst the surviving heirs.
