Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Pennsylvania

supposable lost will

my girlfriends grandmother passed away in Pa. Now according to her father and uncle her will has been lost and the attorney supposably never filed her will with the register of wills. What recourse of action do they have at this point if any. Also is there a legal malpractice or legal ethics discrepancy that can be filed against this lawyer?

Re: supposedly lost will

Not much you can do to the lawyer. He drafted the will but generally after that's done the will is given to the client. So if somebody else lost it how is the lawyer responsible?

If there is no will the intestate laws apply. As such your girlfriend is an heir at law as is her father. Uncle on the other hand is not.
