My children have been left a trust fund by their grandmother in which all her assets are to be liquidated and put in the trust fund.How do I find out what her assets are and their value?

If this trust was created under your mother's [or mother-in-law's] will, it should be funded by the personal representative administering the estate. The will or other document creating the trust should have named Trustees, who will administer the trust.
You may ask for a copy of the will, or you may go to the Office of the Register of Wills in the County where the deceased person resided. There you may examine the will to find out what the terms of the trust are.
You are relying on the personal representative to gather all of the assets and debts, pay debts and other obligations, and only then may the remaining assets be liquidated and fund the trust. However, you or your children may demand a formal accounting, which should show what was in the estate and how it was paid out.
