Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Pennsylvania
No Will
My father passed away over a year ago and left no will. There are 5 siblings still alive.
He had no estate to speak of with the exception of his house.
My brothers and siters decided that my youngest sister should take the house but she is not able to afford the fees to have it put in her name and she doesn't want it in her name anyway for legal reasons.
How would I go about getting this house in my name?
I don't believe I would have any trouble with my siblings they would be ok with me putting it in my name and taking on the expense and upkeep for my younger sister.
I need to do something asap as my sister and her 3 children are living in this house without any kind of insurance. Could you also refer me to an attorney that handles this kind of problem.
Thank you for reviewing this request.

Re: No Will
First, even though your father had no will and the only asset was ahouse does not mean there are no issues. There is inheritance tax due on the home nine months after the death of your father. I assume your mother predeceased your father. If the taxes were not paid they are accruing inerest as well as penalties because an inheritance tax return was not filed. Your siblings can agree to convey there interest to you but an estate must be open as the house is in the name of an estate at present. You should contact an attorney at once.
