Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Pennsylvania

will probate

My uncle died in November 2007. The lawyer processing the will said he had to file a 706 federal tax return.He said it could be an additional year to a year and a half before we recieve our inheritance because they can't close the estate without that document. Will the money we are getting aquire interest The rough number right now is $250,000.00
