Legal Question in Workers Comp in Pennsylvania

attorneys fees taken out of comp check

Injured at work Oct 06. Was told by attorney I have a really strong case. Going to a penality hearing next month. To my knowledge, we are also close to a settlement. Opened my check this week to find that I am short less the attorneys 20%. Is this normal practice? I was told everything would be at the end.

Re: attorneys fees taken out of comp check

This is normal. Attorneys' fees are limited to 20% but it is 20% of the entire award which means it is 20% of each check.
