Company Health Insurance

If an employee is out on Workers Comp, does the employer have to keep them on the Company Health Insurance for the duration?

Most of the cases of which I'm aware are governed by union contracts or the provisions of employer benefit plans. But there may also be requirements of your workers' compensation insurer that health insurance be maintained while she's off on compensation so that the workers' compensation carrier doesn't get stuck with bills for care unrelated to the injury.

If there is no provision in the union contract, employee benefit plan, or compensation insurance policy, you may still want to check with the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry.
