Legal Question in Workers Comp in Pennsylvania

Denial of Medical Payment

I was injured on the job when employed by my previous employer. During that employment I had been authorized to get an MRI done on my back. This MRI confirmed injuries and I was continued on ''light duty''. Approximately two weeks after the procedure I accepted new employment to take a less physically demanding job with my new employer.

I have received a bill from the MRI doctor stating ''INS REJECTION W/C DENIED INJ NO LONGER''

I am now being billed directly for the MRI and other fees.

How do I appeal, or otherwise have my previous employer pay for these fees, as they did with all other fees before I left their employment?

Re: Denial of Medical Payment

Your original employer, or its workers comp insurer, remains responsible for the payment of all medical bills related to the original injury, even if you have treatment after you got a new job. You should contact your old employer, or the workers comp insurer, to find out why the bill was not paid. There may just be confusion. If they continue to refuse to pay the bill, you will need to contact a workers comp attorney to help you. Good luck!!
