Legal Question in Workers Comp in Pennsylvania

Got hit on the head on the job..

Dec 4, 2000 I got hit on the head with a metal cover that is pretty heavy. I did not see a doctor for two weeks, I am having headaches, and memory laps,also my nose stills bleeds when i wake up in the mornings and i am dizzy.. what shall i do....

First, I hope you told your company about the accident right away, or at least when you went to see the doctor. And that you told the doctor about how it happened at work. Delayed reporting can raise questiosn about credibility, i.e., did it really happen the way you say. If you haven't told the company, do so RIGHT AWAY! There's a short time limit under the comp act for giving notice and your rights to compensation can be completely lost if you wait too long.

If the company has a list of approved doctors, you may have to treat with one of them (at least, the company only has to pay for the medical treatment with them) but you can choose from the list. If they don't have a list, you can choose your doctor.

THen you can consult a lawyer about your situation.

But the most important thing is to get good medical treatment. Head injuries can be difficult to recover from and it's important to get good medical diagnosis and treatment.
