Legal Question in Workers Comp in Pennsylvania
Hurt on job in p.a
I have been out on comp since 8/2007 now the dr that did the ime said i would need surgery . The surgeon will not do anything until i stop smoking. I have been smoking for a long time need meds to stop but dont have insurance what do I do . Cant afford the pills needed . Can they stop my payments till I figure out how to pay for them.

If the surgery is necessary treatment for a work-related injury the employer is obligated to pay for the surgery. The smoking issue is between the surgeon and the insurance carrier.
