Can I sue my prior employer for severe carpal tunnel today?

I have a severe case of carprel tunnel which needs surgery.

Can I go after my prior employer for pain & suffering & medical expense damages? I waitressed for 7 years and we were trained to carry the plates with our hands, not trays, which has put me in this predicament today.

you cannot sue your employer, you do however have a workeers comp. claim
