Legal Question in Workers Comp in Pennsylvania

Having to Use up vacation

I hurt my back at work a year ago and have been going to the doctor ever since. My emplorer makes me go to any doctor appointmentss and MRI, and blood test appointments on my own time. I have had to use vacation time to do these things, or I would be broke by just taking time off work. Is that the way things are done in Pennsylvania? Must I do this things on my own time?? I am losing money during all this. Through no fault of my own I now have to use my vacation time? At this time I have 5 buldging discs. I have continued to work through all this as they have no light duty jobs supposedly. Even when I was told by my doctors to not do certain things, my emplorer continued to ask me to do them.

Re: Having to Use up vacation

I need more information to answer your question-

1.Are you receiving any comp benefits- wages or payment of medical bills?

2. Are you treating with the company referred doctor, or your own doctor

The bottom line is that if you must take off time from work to attend medical treatment, & can't make an appointment at another time, you should get paid by comp & not have to take vacation time. You should consult with an experienced worker's comp attorney in your area. Let me know if you need help finding one. Good luck!!
