Legal Question in Workers Comp in Pennsylvania

I have been off work since 8/08 due to wrist injury. I have since had 3 surgeries by the same dr. After the 3rd surgery he tells me my wrist is still not right, and wants to send me to a hand specialist in Philadelphia (which is about 2 hrs for me.) He says my next 2 options are a prosthetic in my wrist (which is fairly new and not sure how long or if it will work) or have my bones fused together which means I will not be able to move my wrist again. I have been living with major pain for over a year now and it just keeps getting worse! I am currently getting paid and so are my bills. I was wondering if there are any other options I should be considering such as a settlement. Thanks!

It is good that you are currently being paid for your lost time from work as well as your medical bills. If you have an attorney you should contact him/her with these important questions. You have not provided information as to how you injured your hand at work. Was it due to an accident that was avoidable or defective machinery? I would like to know how this injury occurred. I have represented many people with serious hand injuries. If you are having questions concerning these surgical options, to say the least, for your own best interest, you must have a second opinion from a competent hand surgeon.A settlement would likely be an option at some point in the future. Since you are at a legal/medical crossroads you should consult with an an experienced attorney. I would be happy to speak with you at anytime at no charge to see how we can help you.I am a Pennyslvania attorney in practice for over 27 years and have represented individuals throughout the state.
