Legal Question in Workers Comp in Pennsylvania

work injury

I hit my head on a file cabinet that was left open and sustained LOC and a gash which required 10 stiches, which caused a permanent scar. Since the accident, I haven't been feeling myself, but all exams indicate that things are nomal. I had submitted a letter of resignation effective at the end of that week of the accident. What happens to my comp claim, and what is the law regarding permanent scarring, post-concussion feelings, and my pending resignation from the job?

your comp claim, in theory, should not be problematic. However, you can be sure, that they will try to cut you off and claim that you are employable. You really need an attny to navigate you thru this.

A facial scar is a specific type of loss for which you can seek compensation. You should retain a lawyer familiar with PA workers compensation laws.

Re: work injury

u should not withdraw voluntarily from the labor force. make an appt with a psychiatrist of some type of behavioral health expert to discuss that you quit because of "functinal overlay" or pain or whatever it was. this is all to entitle you to temporary workers comp payments.

on top of that, you should receive a specific loss award for the scar of the head, face or neck. a forehead scar is pretty noticeable and ten stiches require justice.

reserve counsel in your area: Charles Martin out east, Vince Quatrini or Jack McTiernan in the west of the Commonwealth.

I take cases between lewistown and johnstown.

Good Luck
