Legal Question in Workers Comp in Pennsylvania

workers comp ques/ power of attorney ques.

Dad died xmas eve, he was in process of settling workers comp case. how can my mother find out if he settled in court? The attorney will not give my mother a straight answer, mom and dad were seperated for last 10 yrs but still talked and still kept BOTH names on money markets, stocks and homes. My father talked to Mom just before he died and talked about a settlement soon. My brother is also envolved and had power of attorney while dad was still alive, and mom found out brother may have illegally withdrew funds from a JOINT money market account, wouldnt my mother and father BOTH had to sign to withdraw money out of there money market? my brother and father signed, and now my mother is out 37k and had tax form sent to the house saying SHE needs to pay taxes on that money..

I hope someone can help with this two part qustion.

Re: workers comp ques/ power of attorney ques.

If your Late Father was going to commute or settle via a Compromise & Release of future compensation, there will be no recovery. if the settlement was for past comp, then the chance of settling may not have died with him.

My condolences on your loss.
