Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Philippines

i need an advice..

i need your advice on what to do.. my friend stands as witness on a case, the case was 3 years ago and its still on the court, now my friend would like to backout for some reasons but they keep on sending her sumon, what will happen to her if she will not anymore stand as witness, will she be arrested? i really have no idea on this, i want to help my friend on what to do regarding this matter... can you help me on this on what to do? i hope this remains confidential... thanks..

there ia a possibility of arrest, specially if it a criminal case. the court may issue a subpoena and if not heeded by your friend, the lawyer can file a motion to have your friend arrested
