building permit

do we need to file for another building permit for the renovation of a house?

Well, it depends on (a) what the reference to NUS-PH Law means and (b) what kind of renovations you're doing. If the property is in Jackson Heights, as the zip code suggests, then the answer is, yes unless what you're doing does not involve electrical, plumbing, hvac, structure, changing the number or use of rooms. In other words, there's not a whole lot you can do without permits in the City of New York. It sounds like you're either trying to do this without a contractor or the contractor is unqualified. Be careful. Make sure the contractor is licensed and bonded, and if you're spending more than $10,000 on the renovation, invest in a half-hour of time with a construction lawyer.

yes. the law requires submission of another engineering plan for the issuance of a renevoation permit.
