Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Philippines
I am Globe subscriber. I accidentally use the roaming services of globe when I was in Hong kong. I was shocked of my bill that reached 42,000 pesos.Globe temporarily disconnected my line. I make an agreement with them that I want to pay it in an installment basis for one to two years and I will pay an amount of 10,000 pesos to reconnect my phone line and according to the call center that i talked to, my request was approved. A month after, they temporarily disconnect my line due to that they want me to pay the balance of my phone bill. I asked them if my request was not approved last month. They told me that they just want me to pay the phone bill. Again, I make another arrangement with them, indicating to pay 4,000 pesos now and to settle my payment within 3 months. My request was declined, so i want to permanently disconnect my phone line and planning it to pay for for the span of a year. Are there any legal implications or consequences I can face in this situation? Though I read the Philippine 1987 Constitution Article III Section 20 that No person shall be imprisoned for debt or non-payment of a poll tax. I am not running my responsibility but the service they've given me gave me a very inconvenient one. I just want to hear from an expert from law... Thank you....
