Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Philippines
Hi,I had this credit card unsettled bill when I was in Dubai since Mar 2004.I was retrenched and was force to go home to my country. I was paying an insurance for credit shield that says if something happened to me when it comes to my life or job,that can deal with that. Recently,there is this collection company that has been sending email to my husband and threatens me on travel ban and some sort of harassment and that they are requiring me to pay. I know that without any subpoena there's no case yet.What am I going to do? They've been telling my friends through face book and friendster on what had happened and they are embarrassing me.Please enlighten me.Thanks

It is your obligation. Then pay it. However, you can negotiate with the credit card company the terms of payment. Do not talk to the collecting agents but to the credit card company itselt. The people harassing you were obviously the collecting agents. Good luck to you.
