Legal Question in Criminal Law in Philippines

good pm, i would like to ask some legal question about my frieds case, it is possible that a murder case down to homicide? the case happen last april this year the complainant accuse my friend a murder case due to her son died with gunshot but they didnt seen it happens there was somebody told them that my friend is one of the suspect after that they're already undergo to a process which is fiscal hearing. we're read their affidavid in the first meeting of hearing that the witness aren't sure who's shot to the victim because 3 suspects are they pinpointed and my friend submitted also his affidavid, afterwards in the 2nd hearing they change their affidavid that they already knew whos killed the victim and that was my friend...it is possible to us to go through the process so that the charge of murder down to homicide? thanks for helping
note: my friend was only 17 yrs old

You can just point out the inconsistent statement of the complainant.
