Legal Question in Criminal Law in Philippines

thanks for the response, actually, we have. it was an NBI employee, an authority in forgery and fraud detection who actually confirmed the forged signature of my father..Our legal counsel would want us to settle, of course we will, but our opponent has to pay for their fraudulent acts , harassing my widow old mother who is now diagnosed with dementia and alzheimers. We are planning to file a criminal case against them , since the first one was only a civil case. Are we on the right track here? Thanks and God bless.

Litigation is very tedious and rigorous. The problem is whether the other party will make an offer towards an amicable settlement and if this is acceptable to you, if ever. We have a saying that a bad compromise is better than a good case. This is because a good case will drag for so many years. You could have an advantage for settlement if you initiated a criminal case instead of a civil case. If your mother is already old and sickly can she still endure the whole process.
