Legal Question in Family Law in Philippines

Hi Attorney! Me and my boyfriend are in a relationship for almost five years already. My boyfriend is my father's first cousin. Therefore, he is my "first cousin once removed" right?

I just want to ask, are we allowed to get married here in the Philippines?

Your reply would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

4th degree of relationship by consanguinity or affinity is prohibited by law. In your case if your boyfriend is the first cousin of your father their respective parents are siblings. The degree is counted this way, from you to your father its one degree, from your father to your grand father/mother is two degrees, from your grand father/mother to your great grand father/mother its third degrees, from your great grand father/mother going down to the father or mother of your boyfriend is fourth degrees then going down to your boyfriend its fifth degrees and going down to you is sixth degrees. If that is the case then you can marry your boyfriend.
