Legal Question in Family Law in Philippines

i have a girlfriend who has a son.. the father of her son did not accept the boy as hes son.. now the father of the boy and my girlfriend has not seeing and dont have any communication for 3 to 4 years now.. so i decided to adopt her son.. since the birth certificate of her son is late registered.. now her son is using my surname.. is there any violation to what i did??

Yes, what you did is a falsification of public document by way of making yourself to appear as the putative father of the child. That is not the way to adopt the child.Adoption should be through court proceedings.
