Legal Question in Family Law in Philippines

Hi, im glenn. I am married for a month, and soon having a baby of my own. My wife already have a four year old son whom i want to adopt. His biological father doesn't have communication on him for almost a year. He also doesn't give him any financial support for about three years. Would we still need his signatory, for me to adopt his son?

There are decisions of the Philippine Supreme Court which says that given the circumstances similar to your case the biological father's consent need not be obtained. This is in the light of his abandonment of the child. Good luck to you.
