Legal Question in Family Law in Philippines

ex husband wont give me annulment

my ex husband is now living in riyahd with his new wife and son. i am his 1st wife and we got married in 1999 and have 2 daughters which are now 8 nd 6 and we got maried in a catholic church since both or us are cathilocs. but he change his religion at riyahd without my knowledge to muslim and got married to another woman.

i asked for annulment since he already told me straight to the point when i caught him on line chatting with his brother the he dont care for me and the 2 kids. he never communicate with the kids for the past 6 years and the only time i got to talk to him is when i ask his mother to call him and ask him regarding the support for the 2 kids. I ask for separation and for support for the kids but all he told me that he dont want to since he dont want another man to have me and to have the benifits that he will get once something happend to me because i am working in a good company. i really wanted to get out from this marriege since he is not supporting the children and his parents are the only one whose giving the money for the amount of 5000 pesos everymonth for the children. what should i do? i really wanted to get out from this marriage but i talked to a muslim friend that its legal for them?

Re: ex husband wont give me annulment

You husband's cooperation in filing a petition to have your marriage annulled or declared null and void is not needed. Thus, you can beging initiating the filing of the said petition. Your husband obviously converted himself to Muslim to do away from the prosecution of bigamy.

Begin engaging a counsel of your own choice.
