do u get the affidavit in lieu of a certificate of legal capacity to contract marriage=then get married and wait for 10 days????

nope. mere affidavit would not do if you are a foreigner marrying a Filipino. YOu have to have a certificate of legal capacity to contract marriage before you can be issue a marriage license. The marriage license is what you needt to legally contract marriage.

You should first get the legal capacity to marry from your embassy. Next, you apply for a marriage license at the Civil Registry of the place where you intend to get married. You will be required by the Civil Registry to present your certificate of legal capacity to marry. The license will not be issued until after the lapse of ten (10) days from the date the application for marriage license is filed. On the 11th day, get the marriage license and you can then get married.
