Is it descretionary to not or to render over time at work.

Article 87 of the Labor Code provides that Work may be performed beyond eight (8) hours a day provided that the employee is paid for the overtime work. However, under Article 89 of the same Code in case of an emergency the employee may be required by the employer to perform an overtime work.
