Legal Question in Employment Law in Philippines
I'm a teacher in a christian school but suddenly i got pregnant and it is out of marriage because i just had a boyfriend we're planning to get married this april or may whatever fitted schedule the municipal office will give to us, is this situation of mine having a pregnancy before marriage will be a ground to my dismissal in my current work? or will i find a new teaching job/other work considering that i'm pregnant? thanks for your reply

As a rule issues involving morality is not a ground for dismissal unless this affects your performance in work.But if your school has a clear policy on this (meaning this is contained in their rules and regulations) and that violation of the said policy will mean dismissal then they can use this as a ground to terminate you.However, they should afford you the twin requirements of due process, notice and hearing.
