Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Philippines

Good evening. My cousin keeps bothering us for an attorney's fee about a pending case. The case as he mentioned is about our property that is being claimed by someone else. When i asked about the papers for the said case, he just said, it's with the lawyer. Is there any way we can find an ongoing case and check the status?Also they have mentioned that there has been another case for the said property, and that we won. But for some reason another case is opened.The case is in Cagayan valley. Any assistance and advise would be greatly appreciated.Thanks

You have to ask from your cousin the docket number of the case, the branch of the court where the case is pending and the lawyer's name. Unless your cousin can present the foregoing details and papers chances are he/she is not telling the truth. If there is really a case your cousin can easily get some copies of the documents to the lawyer.Once you have the documents and the details I mentioned you have to proceed to the court and verify the case
