Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Philippines
Hi, I do have a question about inheritance. I am an illegitimate child I am the only son and I do have a legal adapted sister who is now living with my fathers wife. Here is my story last three years ago I was given 180,000 pesos and they let me sign a document stating that I have borrowed money form my sister. AS I can see the property of my father was beyond what they gave me. My father has a 28 hectare fishpond and a house and lot more or less cost 2 million. My question is if I can still be inherited beyond that 180,000 pesos they gave me and also My mother told me that my father has a last will and testament so is it still useful if my father is already gone since they let me sign a document when they gave me that amount and beside that atty which is taken care of the last will has passed away. Do I have the right to see the last will or the last will will be passed to other atty. Thank you very much and hope for your response. Barry

Demand for a copy of the said last will and testament. In case they will refuse to present the copy then file a petition for settlement of intestate and estate of your late father.Unfortunately, the adopted has greater share to you. Supposing her share is 100,000 then your share as an illegitimate child is half of it or P50,000.
