Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Philippines
In the Philippines, can a child inherit their parent's debt?
I understand that in the U.S. the debt is taken out of the parent's assets but the children do not inherit the debts.
In Japan, the debts are inherited by the heirs.
What is the case for the Philippines?

Under Philippine laws, a creditor can file his claim against the estate of the deceased. However, children as heirs, do not personally inherit the debts of their parents.
