I have a limitada company in portugal can i buy out my partner we are both sharing 50% of the company

I belieave you meant that you have a "sociedade por quotas de responsabilidade limitada".
Yes, you can always buy your partner "quota". Only one thing to have in mind: If you buy the all 100%, you must, after, do one of 2 things. Transform the company into a UNIPESSOAL (only one partner) or sell 1 "quota" it can be of 1% to another person. (Regular "sociedade por quotas" must have at least 2 partners)
