Account balance disagreement
I have an account balance disagreement with American Express. During the investigation (that is not over yet) they made a refund for $7,000 saying that it was a credit balance refund. Now they said that they issued the check by a system error and that we have to return the money. But the check was on hold for about 3 weeks and before that we called to their offices and they said the check issued was correct, so we cashed it. What do you recommend me to do?

You should initiate their debt challenge procedure, so that they do not initiate a money collection suit, damage your credit, or recognize a credit in your favor in their account.
You have to be assertive to them that their credit is not correct or unfair in these circumstances.
