Legal Question in Family Law in Puerto Rico

Leaving Puerto Rico

To Whom It May Concern:

My daughter was married at the age of eighteen (18) in San Juan, P.R. She was married for ten (10) years and in that time period, she was abused. The courts have all the records.

She is now 35 years old and has custody of her daughter, who is 9 years old. Her son, who is 16 years old, is living with his father.

At this time, because of money matters, my daughters daughter is living with her father temporally until her mother can obtain a larger apartment. They both have visitation rights, which is every other weekend.

My question is:

(1)Can my daughter take her daughter to Florida without the consent of the childs father?

Can you help me?\

Thank you.

Re: Leaving Puerto Rico

If it is in the best interests of the child she can come to Florida. Since he has visitation rights it would be best to get his ok. If not, the issue may have to be litigated in Florida.
