Bankruptcy help in Rhode Island-Do I need an attorney / lawyer?
A Bankruptcy is a very complicated matter. You should not represent yourself in a Bankruptcy. Please contact a Rhode Island Bankruptcy Lawyer / Attorney.
Re: bankruptcy
YOU NEED TO HIRE A LAWYER. Bankruptcy, while it used to be fairly straightforward, has developed many, many pitfalls for do-it-yourself petitioners, thanks to the 2005 Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention Act.
If you can't afford a lawyer, contact your local legal aid provider (you'll probably find them in the phone book). If you need a referral, contact your state or county bar association.
I'd offer to help, but I'm not in Rhode Island.
